Speaker 4 introduced the add-on resolution and invited Greg to give background. Greg said National Grid needs an easement on college property to reorient existing distribution lines so the project’s transmission lines can connect; the action does not add poles, only grants right-of-way for a line change. Speaker 3 said he negotiated a $3,000 payment from National Grid that will be split between the two counties involved. The committee voted in favor and advanced the easement to the full board.
Committee members remarked that Fulton County had already approved a similar request in November; speakers agreed the easement was largely technical and intended to facilitate grid connection for the solar installation.
