A representative of the Forest Hills Foundation told the Board on Dec. 18 that the group raised $121,000 at a recent "Denim and Diamonds" fundraiser and plans to direct proceeds to student supports.
The foundation representative said the funds will support four programs including Sources of Strength, positive behavior interventions and supports (PBIS), child-focused therapists, and after-school clubs and tutoring, and to assist with transportation home for students. A short video showcased the foundation's work on belonging and student supports.
Outcome: The foundation presentation was a non-action informational item; trustees thanked the foundation for community support.
