District and contractors outline 2018 bond work, say projects largely on budget and planning for 2025 bond has begun

Representatives from McCarthy & Smith and TMP said the bond "passed with flying colors" in 2018 and that the work included secure main entrances, LED lighting upgrades, new science rooms, a clinic at John Glenn and elementary air conditioning projects. The presenters said COVID and supply and labor issues complicated construction but that the program is now being brought to a close.
"It was an honor to work with the district again on this project," said Bill McCarthy, who detailed site improvements and praised the collaboration among vendors and district leadership. Staff also acknowledged grant-supported equipment and community partners that contributed to program success.
District presenters said they have begun planning for a 2025 bond to address remaining buildings and upgrades, and they plan to meet stakeholders in the new year to lay groundwork for that campaign.
Next steps: Trustees thanked contractors for work completed; staff will continue stakeholder outreach for potential 2025 bond planning.
