Transit ridership dips in November as holiday service reductions hit numbers

Bowers told the committee the drop in month‑to‑month ridership was driven by Thanksgiving service reductions: "They were closed a couple of days, and then about 3 or 4 days they were on reduced service."
She gave additional system detail: USC boardings for November were 31,827 and USC game‑day ridership was 8,865 in September. Bowers pointed members to the financial and DBE participation pages in the report and noted Miss Andrews from finance was present for questions.
Committee members asked follow‑up questions about the Thanksgiving effect and one member said they would contact Bowers afterward to discuss ideas for addressing ridership fluctuations.
