The committee highlighted Samaritas (substance‑use treatment and peer coaches) and funding to assist drug‑court participants with the cost of routine drug testing; committee members said transportation to clean housing units was also considered. One committee member emphasized that the goal was to ensure dollars directly benefit Eaton County residents rather than be absorbed by out‑of‑county administrative spending. A resolution adopting the committee’s recommendations was moved and approved by voice vote. During discussion a commissioner said approximately $3,000,000 remains in the settlement pool, which the presenter said is expected to fund local work for about 18 years.
