At its Dec. 17 meeting the Delta County Board of Commissioners publicly recognized three men for life‑saving actions after fishermen fell through the ice.
Commissioner Jensen read a citation on behalf of the board acknowledging Jake Hrabowski, Jason Frandell and Tom Hendrickson "for quick action, saving life of the fishermen that fell through the ice," noting the rescuers arrived on scene well before others and ran approximately half a mile to reach the incident. The citation stated the board’s gratitude: "Your dedicated service to the citizens of Delta County will not be forgotten."
Commissioners and attendees thanked the men for their efforts; no formal action beyond presentation of the citation was required.
A statement in the meeting record noted six individuals were involved in the incident and praised the rescuers’ prompt response.
