The citation stated the board’s gratitude: "Your dedicated service to the citizens of Delta County will not be forgotten."
Commissioners and attendees thanked the men for their efforts; no formal action beyond presentation of the citation was required.
A statement in the meeting record noted six individuals were involved in the incident and praised the rescuers’ prompt response.
