Council recognizes Centenary College bicentennial; local Mardi Gras crew donates more than 250 stuffed animals

Separately, Larry Ellis, captain of the Mystic Crew of Imani, and Evelyn Johnson described the crew’s outreach work and presented a donation of more than 250 stuffed animals to be distributed by local public safety and child‑services agencies as part of Operation Santa Claus. Johnson said the donations are intended to bring comfort to children who face trauma and difficult circumstances during the holidays.
Council members praised both the college’s history and the crew’s community effort.
