The Kalamazoo City Commission approved consent items 1–13 at its Dec. 16 meeting, a package that included contracts, grant amendments and small capital and program approvals.
Manager Rissma listed the items for approval: a contract extension with Rathco Safety Supply Inc. for sign installation and maintenance ($182,275), a three‑year contract with HydroCorp LLC for cross‑connection program administration ($205,200), adoption of neighborhood enterprise zone homestead applications, multiple budget amendments and an ARPA grant agreement with Southwest Childcare Resources for $132,000 to support early childcare businesses. The consent package also included an ARPA grant of $480,000 to the Kalamazoo County land bank to construct housing units using preapproved city plans, acceptance of donated recreation equipment (estimated value $43,177.95), and a permit to display fireworks from the Epic Center parking structure on Dec. 31.
Commissioner Prado moved approval and the items passed on a roll call vote. The motion authorized the city manager to sign related documents for the approved items.
