Kenner council approves Stone Interiors site changes on Airline Drive after planning presentation

Kenner City Council unanimously approved an amendment to Ordinance 11,304 on Dec. 5 to permit site changes at the Stone Interiors development on Airline Drive.
Planning staff said the amendment responds to a relocated city sewer line and would increase the overall development square footage slightly and expand the Phase 2 warehouse from 15,018 square feet to 19,013 square feet. The proposal also relocates parking closer to the Phase 2 warehouse, adds an approximately 1,100-square-foot concrete pad adjacent to the Phase 2 building and moves the required retention pond from the middle of the lot to the west side. The property was described as Lot L1 in Oakland Plantation subdivision (approx. 138,000 sq ft) and the planning commission recommended approval.
Council opened the public hearing, heard the planning presentation, closed the hearing and voted to approve the amendment by voice vote (recorded as unanimous). No public opponents were recorded during the hearing. The council’s action implements the site changes conditioned by compliance with site elevation and landscaping plans submitted by Concerta Architects dated Oct. 22, 2024.
