The council noted a past-due water bill and outstanding taxes connected to the property; the water bill was paid prior to the vote and council made approval contingent on payment of any remaining back taxes before permits are issued.
City Treasurer Susan Nashlow confirmed the petitioner had addressed the outstanding water bill and communicated with the treasurer’s office about remaining taxes. Council asked that payment be a condition for permit issuance and the petitioner’s representative accepted that stipulation.
The resolution passed unanimously, 5–0. Council members said the contingency could be handled administratively and thanked the treasurer for providing documentation prior to the vote.
