What the council approved: • Item A — rezoning of 113 Wallace Road (TMS 23400-0005) from conservation open space to residential single family (first reading). • Item C — change from Planned Development to Village Node for TMS 222000089 (first reading). • Item D — Planned Development amendments for two Myers Road parcels (first reading), pending final integration of PD conditions before second reading. • Item E — repeal of sections 33.059–33.062 of the city code related to volunteer fire department membership and duties to codify that the city no longer uses volunteer firefighters (first reading). • Allocation of $1,500,000 from the general fund balance as the required 20% local match for a $6,000,000 federal 'Safe Streets for All' grant to add pedestrian connectivity from Karnes to Walmart. Council heard from Missus Ziegler that the allocation would leave the city’s mandatory reserves intact. • Approval to engage Love Bailey CPA for a four‑year auditing contract following an RFQ. • Approval to hire the Middleton Group to prepare construction drawings for the Crowfield restroom project. • Multiple board appointments and reappointments (Accommodations Tax Committee, Cultural Arts Commission, Planning Commission reappointments). • Approval of minutes from Nov. 12 and Nov. 16.
