The Wauwatosa Plan Commission unanimously approved a conditional use permit for a two‑unit house at 7433 West Blanchard Street, allowing the ground floor of an existing building to be converted back to residential use.
Planner Mr. Pinon said the building previously had a ground‑floor residential unit until it was converted to office space in 2006 and that the applicant proposes to return the ground floor to housing. Staff noted the property at 1345 (behind the highlighted parcel) is a separate parcel that will remain a warehouse; 7433 will be the residence parcel and, staff said, provides adequate parking.
Applicant Kathleen Shealy told commissioners she and her family have longstanding ties to the property and that her son is buying the business and moving it elsewhere; she said the warehouse has been rented and she may move into one of the residences. A motion to approve the staff recommendations passed unanimously.
