Separately, the board approved spending up to $33,000 to install a Plymovent exhaust removal system at Station 2 — $28,000 for the vendor equipment and an additional contingency to cover electrical work. The fire chief supports a side‑door option to allow a smaller diesel vehicle to hook into the venting system.
The board also allocated $17,000 to address the animal shelter’s electrical repairs and to build a fenced outdoor run (quoted as roughly $10,000 electrical and $7,000 fencing). Members asked staff to verify whether the animal building’s fire alarm is tied into the dispatch radio control box and requested a follow‑up report.
For the town’s water tank painting and repair project, the board authorized the town administrator to enter a contract with Weston & Samson for $57,100 to prepare specifications and get the project out to bid. Board members noted that construction administration could be negotiated as a separate future agreement.
