Select Board approves posted hours extension for DDM Cannabis
Summary
After hearing from attorney Chris Ryan and Chief Gilmore, the Select Board approved DDM Cannabis’s request to post extended closing hours (Sunday–Wednesday posted to 10:30, Thu–Sat posted to 11:30) so customers present at posted closing can complete purchases under Cannabis Control Commission rules.

Attorney Chris Ryan, representing DDM Sales (DDM Cannabis at 1 Lloyd St.), asked the Select Board to allow the dispensary to post later hours so customers who are in the store at advertised closing have time to complete purchases because retail POS systems report in real time to the Cannabis Control Commission.
Ryan explained that DDM currently closes customers out before the 10 p.m. POS cutoff and advertised a 9:45 closing to build in a buffer. The requested change would let DDM advertise Sunday–Wednesday hours through 10 and Thu–Sat through 11 (with a half‑hour operational buffer to finish transactions), and on weekend nights the dispensary asked to post until 11. Police Chief Chip Gilmore said there have been very few calls for service and no noise complaints at the location; board members discussed potential parity with other local retail hours and whether other cannabis operators might seek similar relief.
On a motion made by Selectman Polak and seconded by Selectman Sweeney, the board approved the requested posted hours (Sunday–Wednesday to 10:30; Thursday–Saturday to 11:30) and recorded the vote as passing.
