Meridian Arts Commission conducts routine business, welcomes new youth commissioner and schedules January leadership vote

Commissioners then approved the monthly financial statement after a motion and second; no detailed financial line items were discussed on the floor of the meeting.
Cassandra (staff) led a goal-setting activity to rank the commission’s 2024 goals and propose priorities for 2025. The ranking placed gallery programming as the top priority, followed by partnership work with Parks & Recreation for themed public art, and community engagement through Art Week. Staff said they will tidy the ranked list and present the final 2025 goals at the next meeting.
The commission agreed to cancel the December meeting to allow participation in holiday programming; the next regular meeting will be in January, when the commission will vote for chair and vice chair. A motion to adjourn passed and the meeting ended.
