Taylor described the next exhibit as the Treasure Valley Artists Alliance (TVAA) themed show 'Midnight Metaphor' (theme: color), with an opening planned in early December; she offered to host the opening and invited other commissioners to co-host. A subcommittee meeting the following day will finalize details and publicity.
Commissioners discussed a proposal to pilot a gallery scavenger hunt to engage children (and possibly adults), with simple question sheets and a small art-related gift at completion. Sean described the idea as “just a way to engage children who show up at our openings to keep them busy,” and estimated inexpensive giveaway options could cost about $2.50–$3 per child if the commission provides a small sketchbook and colored pencils. Commissioners agreed to discuss costs and publicity at the IPG subcommittee meeting.
Lizzie also reported outreach efforts to other city commissions to raise awareness of the gallery’s selection process and programming. The subcommittee will meet to finalize the scavenger-hunt logistics, opening-night roles, and any co-hosting assignments.
