On the oath, Speaker 2 administered the pledge to the new reserve, who affirmed, “I do.” Captain Wes Price and Sergeant Eric Vasquez were introduced as reserve unit leaders and liaisons; the department highlighted the reserves’ contributions to parades, traffic control and community events.
Several commissioners and staff praised the reserves as a “force multiplier” for the department and noted the unit logged significant hours supporting recent events including homecoming, trunk‑or‑treat and the municipal airport gatherings. No formal action beyond the swearing‑in was taken during the presentation.
The commission’s regular meetings will continue to include reserve‑unit updates alongside department operational reports.
