The Town of Blackstone Board of Health approved routine administrative items and shared community notices during its meeting.
Health staff presented a list of annual food and tobacco permits (local restaurants, schools, the senior center and retail tobacco sellers) and the board voted to grant the renewals by voice vote.
The board approved paying a Republic Service invoice (listed as 4736863) and authorized regular payments brought before it.
Staff also read correspondence from a regional public-health partnership announcing a COVID-19 and flu vaccination clinic on Saturday, Jan. 11, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Northbridge Senior Center; organizers will offer Moderna and Pfizer vaccines, influenza vaccines (including high-dose for seniors), and Spanish and Portuguese language support. The notice said a $75 gift card will be available while supplies last.
Separately, staff reported a contractor raised an issue about missing board signatures in the town’s OpenGov permit workflow; a tech-support person offered assistance to fix the electronic-signature flow and meet with staff.
