At the Dec. 17 Board of Selectmen meeting, the Town of Blackstone board approved routine minutes and a slate of 2025 business and operator license renewals.
The board first voted to accept minutes from Oct. 8, Oct. 22 and Nov. 12, 2024. Board members then approved a motion to take the Rolling Brook discussion out of order.
The board reviewed the 2025 renewal list and authorized the town administrator to finalize licenses once required paperwork (tax bills, insurance certificates) is received. The board approved Class 1 licenses (Burt’s Body Works), Class 2 licenses (including Blackstone Automotive, Blackstone Motors, Henry’s Auto Parts, Road Runner Auto Sales and others), and Class 3 and common victualler licenses for local businesses and institutions. The board also approved home-occupation permits, drain-layer licenses, automatic amusement device and entertainment licenses for local clubs and restaurants, and pool-table licenses for two clubs. One abstention was recorded for a single home-occupation applicant; all other motions passed unanimously.
Motions and votes were recorded on the meeting record and chair authorized the town administrator to sign licenses when outstanding paperwork is resolved. No contested appeals or protests were recorded during the votes.
Outcome summary: minutes accepted; multiple 2025 licenses and permits approved (unanimous except one abstention on a home-occupation permit).
