The Town of Blackstone Parks & Recreation Committee confirmed details for the Hometown Christmas and Santa parade during its Dec. 9 meeting.
The parade will step off from Pack & Shop (Dean Bank) at 4:30 p.m. and follow last year’s route. Members confirmed participating groups and features including a brass quintet and the Grinch; Santa will ride the large fire truck as in prior years. The chair urged volunteers to gather and noted decoration will be scheduled for the weekend before the event.
Post‑parade activities will be held in the school cafeteria (1–4 p.m.) where hot dogs, cocoa and crafts will be offered. Committee members discussed photography logistics (primary photographer unavailable due to surgery) and agreed to set up a tripod or ask volunteers to take photo sessions; they also discussed signage to direct visitors to the cafeteria entrance and accessibility concerns if a stage were used for photos.
The committee confirmed supplies (400 bendables for giveaways), discussed volunteer time slots (9 a.m. for setup; shifts across the day), and authorized staff to coordinate delivery of equipment. Members will post event details on social media and finalize logistics with school staff.
