Clermont County to light public buildings green Nov. 4–11 for Operation Greenlight

Clermont County officials announced Nov. 4–11 as Operation Greenlight week to show support for military veterans; county buildings and staff will participate and residents and businesses are invited to take part.
Clermont County will again participate in Operation Greenlight to honor military veterans by illuminating county buildings in green from Nov. 4 through Nov. 11, county communications coordinator Ursula Miller and facilities assistant director Chris Turner told the Board of Commissioners on Oct. 23.
The program — spearheaded nationally by the National Association of Counties and the National Association of County Veterans Service Officers — encourages local governments and community groups to shine green lights as a visible sign of support for veterans. County staff said they plan to light five county buildings, including the administration building and permit center, and to encourage residents and businesses to participate by adding green bulbs or lighting features.
The county encouraged veterans to contact Clermont County Veterans Services at the Heritage Building, 76 South Riverside Drive in Batavia, and provided a phone number for the office: 513-732-7363. Staff also said additional participating sites may include a proposed Veterans Village in Felicity.

County organizers invited local residents, businesses and other organizations to participate and said they would provide information about how to get involved and where to obtain green bulbs; the county suggested checking Veterans Services for more information or calling the office directly.
