The Town of Blackstone Conservation Commission took several administrative and permitting votes on Sept. 11, approving an embankment stabilization at 153 Lakeshore, an accessory structure at 125 Mendon Street, and a one-year extension of an order of conditions for 12 Union Street.
Russ Waldron described a non-structural riprap stabilization for roughly 200 square feet of eroding embankment at 153 Lakeshore; commissioners approved the notice of intent and an order of conditions unanimously and the agent said he would prepare the order by next week.
At 125 Mendon Street, attorney Rob Knappick presented plans for a slab-built accessory barn located approximately 76 feet from a bordering vegetated wetland; the agent said the project was straightforward, erosion controls were adequate and that orders of conditions must be recorded at the registry of deeds. Commissioners voted unanimously to approve.
Separately, the commission granted a one-year extension for an existing order of conditions at 12 Union Street to allow the property owner to finish work; the agent advised the owner to submit a written request citing the DEP file number and the commission acted on the administrative item.
All approvals carry standard preconstruction requirements: orders of conditions must be recorded at the registry of deeds, erosion controls must be installed and verified, and the 10-day appeal window to DEP begins on issuance of the permit.
