Greene County adopts resolution honoring Commissioner Rick Perales after 23 years of public service

The Greene County Board of Commissioners on Dec. 19 adopted a resolution honoring Commissioner Rick Perales for 23 years of elected public service.
The resolution, read into the record, credited Perales with participation in planning and construction of a $75,000,000 jail, leading development of the county’s first facility master plan and working on initiatives to support veterans and military families, including connections with NASA Glenn Research Center and Wright‑Patterson Air Force Base. The board moved to accept the resolution, and most commissioners voted in favor while one commissioner recorded an abstention.
Perales addressed the board and attendees, thanked staff and colleagues and reflected on his career. He said he planned to redirect his energy toward services for veterans and military families and invited meeting attendees to a reception after the meeting.
The resolution will be entered into the board’s journal and the commissioners announced a reception for Perales later the same day.
