The revision followed staff feedback that the prior wording—prohibiting latex "in any form"—was impractical because many routine supplies (rubber bands, gloves) contain latex and staff sometimes use such items during normal operations. Trustees discussed making operational accommodations (for example, having tasks done in a back room when a staff member has a latex allergy) and acknowledged the policy would make patrons aware of the limitation rather than promise a sterile environment.
