At the Dec. 17 meeting of the Town of Norwood Board of Health, the environmental health inspector delivered a largely positive report: most prior issues were corrected and inspectors found few critical violations during routine visits.
Inspector (Speaker 4) said several new food businesses have opened in Norwood — Black Casita, Taste Fruit Bridal To You and Purini Tea — while others remain pending: Mama's Bar and Grill, Hometown Arcade, Mini/Biddy Mulligan's and K Street locations. The inspector recommended removing Cedar Market and '2 Favorite' from the hot list after follow-up visits and said many of the previously flagged items did not require continued intervention.
On specific reinspections, the inspector reported that Acapulco's glass machine was not getting sanitizer during an initial visit; he primed the machine and found the issue resolved at reinspection. Paradise Biryani corrected items identified previously, including renewing an expired hood sticker required by the fire department. The inspector said remaining issues in both cases were routine cleaning and would be followed up as part of regular inspections.
Speakers praised the overall results. "It was a very good report this month," one board member said. Board members noted a recurring minor issue: dispensers running out of paper towels in some establishments; the inspector said this typically reflected timing or restocking delays rather than ongoing noncompliance.
Procedurally, the board approved the meeting minutes by voice vote and later moved to adjourn; both motions were seconded and carried on unanimous voice votes recorded as "All in favor. Aye." The meeting then adjourned.
