The Norwood Board of Selectmen continued a show-cause hearing Dec. 17 under Mass. Gen. Laws ch. 138 to consider whether an establishment——————————— should have its wine-and-malt license suspended, limited, or revoked for failure to provide licensed services.
The applicant reported that a building permit was reissued Oct. 24 and that construction is underway, including framing, electrical, and plumbing work. The building inspector summarized the multiple permit types required (electrical, plumbing, fire-alarm, sprinkler and board of health inspections) and said the project could receive at least a conditional/partial occupancy for food and alcohol service within a few months if work continues.
Some selectmen expressed frustration about the multi-year timeline and urged revocation; others pointed to visible progress and asked for more frequent updates. The board voted to continue the hearing for two months with an explicit condition that the applicant return with a progress report on Feb. 11, 2025. The motion carried 4–1.
Next steps: Applicant to provide a progress report and photos or attend the Feb. 11 meeting; the board warned further lack of progress could prompt a different outcome.
