Facilities report: shore power scoping, hot-water fix and dock repairs scheduled

Facilities staff provided the board with a routine update on maintenance and planned repairs.
Phil said he met with an electrical engineer who inspected the net yard and Pier 1 and will prepare a scope and proposal to develop plans and specifications for shore power; he expects follow-up notes near the end of January or early February. Staff also reported that winter preparations are complete — salt and sand barrels are in place and common areas have been cleared for plowing. Routine grounds and equipment maintenance (chains, camels, whalers) remain ongoing.
Robert reported that the previously failed hot-water system has been repaired and is operating. He also noted a $28,000 check issued for dock enclosure repairs that will come out of the Land Pier & Building repair line item next month.
Board members flagged Service Pier No. 1 as heavily used and likely to require significant near-term repairs. Tech Associates will present an updated conditions report and a prioritized list of projects with planning budgets at a future meeting to help the board and staff plan capital work and potential grant applications.
Because the meeting lacked quorum, no formal approvals were made for capital work; staff said they will bring back cost and scope information for the board at a later meeting.
