ZBA amends application name and reserves decision pending fire marshal report for cemetery maintenance yard

The Zoning Board amended an application name and reserved decision on Nov. 21 for a renewal of a special use permit for Montefuro Cemetery’s maintenance facility in West Babylon.
Architect Bill Hennessy, representing the cemetery, said the maintenance yard and outdoor storage for cemetery vehicles has been in operation since 1960 and is used exclusively for cemetery maintenance vehicles. The applicant requested a renewal of the special use permit and standard covenants and restrictions.
The board moved to amend the application name to New Montefuro Cemetery Corporation and approved that amendment. The board also noted it would await a fire marshal report and then move the application to decision; the applicant agreed to previously imposed standard covenants and restrictions.
The hearing was closed and decision reserved pending receipt of the fire marshal report and any minor outstanding items.
