At the start of the meeting the Village of Valley Stream recognized Ralph Colmarino for his long service to the community. An unidentified speaker announced Colmarino had turned 91 on May 17 and noted he has been a resident of the village for roughly 65 years and has volunteered extensively, including decades with the civilian patrol.
The speaker said Colmarino had served as president of the civilian patrol on and off for about 25 years and praised his tireless community involvement. "We're proud to call you a Valley Streamer," the speaker said as trustees and guests joined Colmarino onstage for photographs.
The board invited additional civilian patrol members — some participating by Zoom — to join the photo. The recognition was followed by the regular agenda items and roll-call votes.
