Town of Babylon board approves multiple resolutions; several adopted with abstentions

The Town of Babylon Town Board on Sept. 18 adopted its consensus resolution agenda and moved through individual resolutions recorded in the meeting.

The board approved Resolution 746 by unanimous vote, and a sequence of additional resolutions (including 747, 748 and 752) were approved as listed on the agenda. Later, several previously tabled items were taken up: Resolution 672 passed with three votes in favor and two abstentions (Councilman Mineta and Supervisor Schaffer recorded abstentions); Resolutions 694 and 695 followed with the same 3‑yes, 2‑abstention pattern noted in the roll calls.

Roll calls were taken for several items. Where recorded, votes were as follows: for the unanimous items the clerk recorded five votes in favor; for the tabled items the clerk recorded three yes votes and two abstentions. No recorded votes in the meeting were shown as opposed.

The board did not include detailed descriptions of the content of each numbered resolution in the public-facing discussion at the meeting; the record shows the motions, seconds and roll calls but not longer debate on the items before passage. Members were reminded that copies of the full resolutions and agenda are available at the town office.

Next steps: Adopted resolutions will be processed according to standard town procedures and the clerk will retain full roll call records and copies of each adopted resolution.
