Sheridan County commissioners approve routine items, waterline access agreements and appoint magistrates

Sheridan County commissioners handled a series of routine and administrative items during their Dec. 3 meeting, approving the consent agenda and several agreements and resolutions.
The board approved a 13-item consent agenda and adopted the meeting agenda as published. The board adopted Resolution 24-12-025, approving the 2025 Sheridan County Holiday Courthouse closure schedule after Administrative Director Cameron Duff said the dates mirror 2024 with weekday updates.
The board approved two separate agreements granting the City of Sheridan temporary access to county property for a waterline replacement project: one authorizing access to courthouse property along Whitney Street (including potential temporary fencing and a change from about 60-degree to 40-degree angle parking) and a second granting access to Public Health property where two angled handicap spaces will be converted to one pull-in space; staff confirmed ADA compliance and that the city considered one pull-in space compliant.
The Planning and Zoning Commission recommended approval (5–0) of EV24-002, the Beddingfield easement vacation in Powderhorn Ranch PUD, and the board adopted that recommendation. Cameron Duff reported that Judge Bunting and the state authorized appointment of two part-time circuit court magistrates, Zachary Leininger and Christina Cherney; the county will not expend funds for those part-time magistrates under the resolution the board approved.
All listed routine items passed by voice vote. The meeting adjourned at approximately 9:26 a.m.
