The City Council approved Ordinance No. 5‑2025 to purchase three adjoining properties on Summit Street (5710, 5716 and 5720) from Quinell Investments LLC for $200,000. Staff said the parcels, which back to the North Fork of Ten Mile Creek, were appraised and inspected; the environmental review found no contamination and records show long‑term residential use.
Councilmembers noted the parcels are part of broader downtown planning and could allow the city to respond if utilities or other development needs require additional acquisition. The ordinance authorizes the mayor and finance director to execute the purchase and appropriate funds; council approved the ordinance as an emergency measure by voice vote.
