Post Falls unveils redesigned city website with new notification features

Public information officer Stephanie Herman demonstrated the City of Post Falls's redesigned website at the Dec. 3 council meeting, saying the site has been live for about a week and that staff aim to improve access to agendas, documents and notifications.
Herman showed the mega menu layout and department header pages for organizations such as parks and the police department and highlighted a larger search function that indexes agendas, city code and PDFs. "One of our goals with this site is kinda following, like, this 333 rule where people can get to what they want within 3 clicks, 3 scrolls, and then within 3 sentences on a page," Herman said.
The site includes a new calendar with meeting and events tabs, a document center, a staff directory and a feature to allow citizens to "share photographs" with the city for potential use on the site. Herman said the city is already allowing residents to sign up for notifications and will begin actively using the notification system in January.
