Mark Fry sworn in as Sylvania mayor, vows to 'get the people's work done'

Mark Fry was sworn in as mayor of Sylvania on Jan. 6 during the City Council meeting. Judge Bonfiglio administered the oath of office and Fry repeated the pledge to support the U.S. and Ohio constitutions and the city charter.
Following the oath, Fry thanked family members and friends in the audience and said he looks forward to working with the city’s staff and council: “I've got an amazing staff … I look forward to continuing to work with them in a slightly different pathway.” He emphasized continuity, noting he will rely on councils’ institutional knowledge while advancing the city’s projects.
Fry also said the meeting agenda was full of work for the year ahead and urged the council and staff to focus on delivering projects for residents: “This is still about getting the people's work done. That's what they deserve. That's what we're here for.”
Judge Bonfiglio administered the oath; no formal votes were required for the swearing-in. The council proceeded with a packed agenda that included labor agreements, infrastructure projects and appointments.
