Larry Parsons of the wastewater utility presented change order number 4 for the city’s 2024 open‑trench sewer rehabilitation project with DW Excavating, requesting $13,831.73 to cover unforeseen rock excavation and an unplanned water‑line replacement on work done on North 19th–20th of Coeur d'Alene Avenue, Homestead, Third and Cherrywood.
Parsons said the project is otherwise complete and that the original project remains under budget, with more than $40,000 remaining in the allocated budget for the contract line. He described the change order as covering "a couple of minor things" encountered in the field and urged the committee to move the item to consent so staff could finalize payment and close the project.
A committee member said the item could go to consent because the work remained under budget and a motion was made to recommend council approval of change order #4 in the amount of $13,831.73 to DW Excavating; the motion was seconded, the committee voted 'Aye,' and the chair announced the motion carries.
