The Nicollet County Board of Commissioners on Oct. 8 unanimously adopted a resolution proclaiming Oct. 7–12, 2024 as 4‑H Week in the county.
Presenters from the local 4‑H federation addressed the board and read the proclamation. “My name is Kelsey,” one presenter said while introducing the group; Amanda Vogel identified herself as federation president, and Vivian Christensen said, “I am an ambassador for Nicollet County 4‑H. I am in 11th grade,” and described enjoying meeting peers from different areas. The presenters noted local outreach efforts, including STEM “to‑go” kits and county fair information.
The proclamation text cited 4‑H as a nationwide youth development network and stated that the program supported almost 6,000,000 youth nationally and more than 350 young people in Nicollet County in the past year. Commissioners offered personal recollections of 4‑H and praised volunteers before moving to adopt the resolution. The board’s roll call showed unanimous approval and the resolution was declared adopted.
The board encouraged residents to recognize 4‑H programming and volunteer contributions during the designated week.
