Board approves two plats to consolidate rural parcels for United Farmer Coop project

Nicollet County commissioners on Nov. 12 approved two planning and zoning items recommended by the Planning and Zoning Advisory Commission.
The first item, BLD 24‑16 (PLN 24‑16), was filed by Jason Hughes on behalf of United Farmer Coop (UFC). Staff said the UFC Addition would consolidate five parcels in Lafayette Township to facilitate a new driveway realignment, construction of an office and a grain bin, and to consolidate operations. The advisory commission unanimously recommended preliminary and final plat approval and amended a condition to extend the timeline to record the final plat from 60 to 120 days while UFC completes a right‑of‑way vacation with Lafayette Township. The board approved the plat and the amended condition unanimously.
The board then considered PLN 24‑15, a conditional use permit request with attached final plat, and approved that item unanimously as well. Board members said items had been thoroughly discussed at the advisory commission meeting and no additional concerns were raised in the county meeting.
