Task force urges visibility, replication and adult civic education; partners estimate months to produce resources
Summary

Task force members said the final report should draw attention to existing civic-engagement programs across the state, replicate effective models and include adult civic-education initiatives.
Kevin (Co-chair) said the report should enhance visibility for programs already operating and increase access so more residents can participate. Participants mentioned programs that bring civics into communities and schools and suggested expanding service-program opportunities modeled on past national programs.
A representative of Hartford Community Educated said the organization partners with the Secretary of State to run civic programs and recommended including community-based adult education initiatives in the report. John (participant) estimated it could be "at least 6 months" before partner-produced resources on contemporary legal issues are ready for dissemination.
Melvette recommended funding two Civic Health Indexes (a baseline and a follow-up) to evaluate whether recommendations in the report move key indicators.
The co-chairs will incorporate language encouraging replication of best practices, inclusion of adult civic education and guidance about measuring outcomes in the draft report.
