Council honors students, outgoing members and local businesses at final December meeting

The council’s Dec. 11 session included several non‑legislative recognitions. Hampton City Schools representatives presented winners of the annual mayor’s holiday card contest from multiple high schools. Councilwoman Hope Harper accepted a Digital Cities 2024 survey award on behalf of the city (10th place in Hampton’s population bracket). The council also presented a resolution thanking the Clark family for Clark Feed Company’s longtime service to the community.
In formal ceremony the council adopted proclamations recognizing Councilman W.H. Billy Hobbs Jr., Councilman Chris Bowman, and Mayor Donnie Tuck for their service as they leave council at the end of the year. Each resolution was read into the record and adopted by vote; presentations followed.
