City manager Brian Lackey told council the grant (GR 2024‑12) is being pursued by staff to support pavilion renovations. He said the funds will be used toward the park project and expressed optimism about moving the grant forward.
A councilmember moved to approve GR 2024‑12; the motion passed unanimously.
What happens next: Staff will continue grant application steps and, if awarded, will coordinate the renovation project and any matching or contractual obligations required by the Georgia Department of Natural Resources.
