Board members discussed hardship and the relative cost of alternative additions; after a motion to approve with standard conditions (recording in the Suffolk County registry and site-plan review prior to building permit) the board voted unanimously to grant the relief. The variance was approved subject to the permit-extension and recording conditions read into the record.
