Neighboring county residents asked for more outreach and a cultural‑resource study; some residents said they were not notified in time for the IGA discussion at the council’s prior meeting and requested more community engagement between now and the Jan. 9 second reading.
Petitioner representatives said the PD designation is a framework for a master plan that will be developed in consultation with staff and MPC over coming months and reiterated commitments in the IGA for road improvements and non-industrial uses. Council closed the hearing on first reading and set the item for second reading on Jan. 9; staff and petitioner agreed to additional outreach and a follow-up report on notification and community meeting procedures.
