The board recognized November as Family Engagement Month and heard a presentation from Ms. Banks on district efforts to involve families and community stakeholders. Banks outlined use of Title I funds and community-school grants to underwrite engagement activities and described school- and district-level committees, teacher-student conferences involving families, and project-based learning events that invited community presenters.
Banks announced several schools received state-level family-engagement recognition at a ceremony in Frankfort, including Round County Preschool (recognized as an early care and education center), Robert Elementary (family-friendly school for 2024–25), Round County Senior High School and Clearfield Elementary. Staff said some schools will submit spring applications for recognition and that the district aims to be recognized as family-friendly across all schools.
Board members congratulated recognized schools and posed for photos with honorees; the item was presented for information with no board action required.
