The board conducted first readings of multiple policies at its Dec. 19 meeting, including Policy JBAGBN (harassment), Policy JFE (pregnant and parenting students) and Policy JHCD (medications).
Director(s) raised a specific question about highlighted language in the administrative regulation for medications (JHCD-AR), particularly how notification and principal authority are handled for students who need opioid medication. Staff (speaker 6) told the board the AR is provided for information and that the yellow-highlighted sections are still under review. The administration said it would bring recommended AR language back for approval when Policy JHCD comes forward for final action at a future meeting.
The board also reviewed informational policies and redlined ARs related to family and medical leave, Title IX-based discrimination procedures and other related complaint procedures; several deletions were noted. No substantive public comment was recorded on these items at this meeting.
