Board members completed an executive-officer evaluation and publicly reported unanimous 'outstanding' ratings across relationship with the board, execution of policy, administrative functions and public liaison duties.
Catherine Bachiller, DCA appointments and recruitment specialist, facilitated the EO-evaluation process in closed session; during the public portion the president summarized the evaluation results as 'outstanding.' Members praised the EO’s work on staff development, legislative and regulatory matters, and day-to-day management.
Board members then moved to request a salary increase for Executive Officer Rosanna Khan. DCA staff explained Khan’s monthly salary, the applicable salary band and the general rule that salary requests should not exceed 5% of the monthly salary; members noted most rank-and-file civil-service employees receive automatic 5% anniversary increases but that exempt employees do not. The board voted to move forward with a 5% salary request to CalHR for approval and tasked staff with assembling the completed evaluation and justification for submission.
