At its July 11 business meeting the Molalla River School District board adopted its annual enabling resolution and approved two district contracts.
The enabling resolution (2024–2025) establishes routine administrative authorities for the coming year: authorized check signers and use of signature facsimile, designation of the regular meeting date (second Thursday each month at 7 p.m.), Molalla branch of Umpqua Bank as the depository, Brown and Brown Northwest as insurance agent of record, Polly Rogers & Company, PC as district auditor, and the superintendent as executive officer and budget officer, among other housekeeping items presented in the packet. The resolution also lists substitute pay ($206.35 daily), school meal prices and the district’s mileage reimbursement policy. Speaker 9 moved for adoption; the motion was seconded and approved by the board.
The board also approved two contracts presented by Speaker 10: a four‑year copier lease renewal with Pacific Office Automation with a stated increase of $443 per year, and an addendum to an existing Oregon Outreach agreement, which Speaker 10 said rose from $143,000 to a higher total (the transcript renders the updated figure as “190 $3,000,” which may be a transcription error). Board members asked about how student counts are confirmed for the Oregon Outreach program; Speaker 10 said specific enrollments are determined before the start of the school year.
Both contract motions were moved, seconded and approved unanimously.
What happens next: the administration will finalize contract paperwork and follow standard procurement and contract execution practices.
