The board approved a procurement with Northwest Playground to replace four elementary play structures and add rubber tile surfacing for a purchase price of $1,215,003.94. Staff said the equipment and tile components are ADA accessible, and directors asked about ramping and flat transition options to ensure accessibility.
The board also approved a purchase and an eight‑year maintenance contract for a full‑size multipurpose turf field at Cornelius School, with a total purchase order of $314,696 (procured from FieldTurf/Baynan Sports per staff presentation). Staff said the turf will expand year‑round opportunities for students and community use.
Finally, the board authorized an architectural services contract with BBL for a single‑classroom pre‑K addition at Dilley Elementary for $236,280 to support offering one pre‑K classroom per building as bond funds allow. Directors praised progress on bond projects and asked staff to continue prioritizing accessibility and long‑term maintenance considerations.
All three bond‑funded items were approved by motion and voice vote.
