The Forest Grove School District board approved three budget‑committee appointments and an overnight student trip during its Dec. 10 meeting.
On separate motions the board appointed David Anderson to a three‑year budget committee term ending June 30, 2027, appointed Jordan Miller to a three‑year term ending June 30, 2027, and appointed Nicholas Javez to a one‑year alternate position ending June 30, 2025. Directors indicated they had interviewed applicants and that more applicants applied than available seats; all three motions passed by voice vote.
The board also approved overnight travel for the high school cheer team to attend nationals in Las Vegas, Nevada, Jan. 22–26, 2025. The district estimated total cost of attendance at approximately $20,000 and said student and parent fundraising had covered the trip expense.
No board member requested further delay on either the appointments or the travel authorization, and both items were finalized during the action portion of the agenda.
