Centennial SD reviews Student Investment Account outcomes, keeps LPGT targets through 2027–28

Maureen Callahan, director of curriculum and student learning, presented the Centennial School District's 2023—24 Student Investment Account (SIA) quarter-4 annual reflection to the board on Nov. 13. "The purpose of this evening's report is to share our reflection of our successes and our barriers related to the goals," Callahan said, describing work on Longitudinal Performance Growth Targets (LPGTs) and the district's Roadmap 27 outcomes.
Callahan outlined the five statewide common metrics the district must report, and said the district has set three targets for each measure: baseline, stretch and gap-closing. She said the LPGT targets are embedded in the district's grant agreement and will remain in place through 2027—28.
Directors pressed for data: several asked when official ODE ratings would arrive and whether targets would change in response to the 2023—24 results. Callahan said the district expects the Oregon Department of Education to provide official ratings in mid-November and that the LPGT targets themselves will not change for the 5-year window.
The presentation emphasized increased focus on literacy development, culturally responsive teaching and building educator capacity, and named programs used across the district, including Responsive Classrooms and restorative practices. Callahan said data systems are being strengthened to monitor progress and to inform instruction.
Board members requested a follow-up report when ODE provides official ratings and encouraged staff to return with more specific outcome data and proposed actions if the district's results fall short of stretch or gap-closing targets.
