Council voices unanimous support for riverfront project, renews IT IGA with Monte Vista

At its Nov. 6 meeting the Alamosa City Council unanimously approved a motion to express formal support for the Alamosa Riverfront Project. City staff and project partners described the initiative as transformational for the Rio Grande corridor and noted community outreach and partner fundraising efforts, including $300,000 raised for design and engineering work.
In separate business the council approved on second reading Ordinance 28‑2024 to renew an intergovernmental agreement under which Alamosa provides IT services to Monte Vista. City IT staff described an eight‑year relationship that has expanded staff capacity, cross‑training and mutual benefits; council approved the renewal unanimously.
